Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrades - Fernwood, Idaho

  • Collection System Rehabilitation
  • Lift Station Rehabilitation
  • Over $1.5 million in funding secured from multiple state and federal resources.

The Fernwood Water and Sewer District was experiencing sewer overflow issues primarily related to high inflow and infiltration (I/I) in the gravity collection system. Their primary lift station, located near the St. Maries River, had overflowed during high rain events. Repairing the collection system in a timely manner was required to eliminate unpermitted discharges. Mountain Waterworks completed a detailed I/I analysis consisting of video inspection and physical inspections to prioritize the repairs.

Collection system repairs included a combination of new pipelines and manholes, interior manhole coating, interior pressure grouting, and trenchless pipe repairs.
